It is with great pleasure that I have the opportunity to teach your child this year at Northside Elementary.  I joined the NSE family because I was extremely impressed with the campus' focus on the children and the positive environment NSE has created.  I believe that my instructional abilities, combined with my strong interpersonal skills and work ethic will greatly benefit your child's education.

I come from a large family of teachers that believe that an excellent education is the key to success for young students. As your child's teacher, I hope to motivate my students in ascertaining their inner strengths and abilities and discovering what truly inspires them. I aim to provide a stimulating learning environment that encourages students to trust their own opinions, while fostering confidence in order for students to realize their full potential.

Through my teaching experience thus far, I have found the method of facilitating rather than dictating to be a highly beneficial style of teaching. I have also learned that if students construct their own learning experiences they will not only retain information longer, but they will also become more confident in their abilities. Being devoted to this assertion confirms that I have made the right career choice for myself. I enjoy working with all children and will continue to strive to be a positive influence in their lives. My overall goal is to lead each student on a lifelong long quest for knowledge.

On a personal note, I enjoy spending time with my family and reading.  I have a passion for animals, specifically monkeys and primates and helping with conservation efforts to keep them protected.  I believe this passion for primates stems from my early reading experiences with stories such as Curious George, Caps for Sale, and Summer of Monkeys.

I also want to assure you, that your child's well being is of the utmost importance to me as I consider my classroom to be my extended family and care deeply about each one of my family members.  Therefore, I welcome any information that can assist your child in making their home away from home a more conducive environment for their learning success.

Now, let's SOAR in Second Grade !
